Latest: The Oscar hardly wanna recognize black people – Mixed reactions trail Tems’ Oscars loss

Fans reacted as trailed singer, Tems’ Oscars lose at the 2023 award ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles, US.

Tems was nominated for ‘Best Original Song’, for her feature in “Lift me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Unfortunately, the fast rising singer lost the award to “NAATU NAATU” from the hit Telugu-language film RRR.

NAATU NAATU made history by becoming the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.

Rihanna features Tems in her new song

Recall that Rihanna, had released her fist new solo song, ‘Lift Me Up’ for the movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ for the first time since her 2016 album, Anti.

The ballad is cowritten by Tems, Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson, and the film’s director, Ryan Coogler. It is a tribute to the life and legacy of late Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 after a private battle with colon cancer which he was diagoned of in 2016.

The singer’s loss has left the internet divided as many noted how NAATU NAATU deserves the win, while others expressed disappointment at the lose.
